Hi, I'm Cara Victoria Reaves.
The world moves fast. I built this site so you can keep up with it in five minutes, not five hours.
I'm a graduate of Spelman College, where I studied International Studies with a focus on International Development and Foreign Investment. That work taught me to look past the headline and ask the questions that matter: Who holds the power? Where is the money moving? And who feels the impact on the ground?
Those questions shape every edition. Every four days, I pick the five stories doing the most to move the world, from diplomacy and conflict to trade, markets and development, and break each one down so it's clear, fast and worth your time.

Follow the power. Follow the money. Then follow the people it touches.
International development and foreign investment decide where roads get built, which currencies hold and who gets a job. That is the lens on every edition of The World in Five.
Get the five before everyone else.
One email every four days: the world's top headlines, recapped. No spam, ever.
